Internship Opportunities

Ikamva Labantwana Bethu (ILB) offers two forms of internship placements depending on the candidates preference: virtual and in-person. Within this framework we provide a wide range of internship experiences based on the interns specialization and/or interest. Below are our main options, though it’s common for interns to mix a number of these focuses.

Fees

Fees are 1370 USD for an in-person internship and 890 USD for a remote internship. Placements last from between 4-12 weeks, though extensions are often possible. 100% Of the internship fees go directly to fund ILB Programmes.

Not included in the internship costs

  • Accommodation and living expenses.
  • Traveller’s insurance.
  • Flight costs.

Accommodation

Accommodation can be provided through ILB at the founders house in Muizenberg. A lovely beach front area with great surfing, shopping malls, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Internet and utilities are included in the rental price. The house has a shared kitchen and dining room.

  • The private bedroom with a queen bed cost 350 USD per month.
  • A shared bedroom with a double bunk bed room cost 175 USD per month.

Other accommodation options are also readily available for interns who wish to be living with other interns and volunteers from abroad. This can be arranged per request.

Transport

Transport to and from ILB can be arranged at a separate cost ranging from 15-25 USD per day.
